If you simply want to take a screenshot of the contents of your PC screen, you can use the "Screen shot" program. The free COMPUTER BILD edition allows you to capture areas drawn with the mouse, a current window, the entire desktop or even the complete contents of several connected monitors. A special feature is the photographing of web pages. If you're using Firefox or Google Chrome, "Screen Shot" offers the ability to capture scrollable web pages as graphics. This means that the software also takes into account the part of a website that can not be viewed directly in the browser window. Alternatively, activate the tool with a pre-set screenshot type via the print key or via a small icon that latches in the title bar of each program window.

Edit screenshots and watermark them
If you have taken a screenshot with the free tool "Screen Shot", a small image editor will automatically open, with which you can edit the screen snapshot and crop it. You can, for example, insert text of the desired size and font color, draw freehand lines, rectangles, arrows or ellipses, highlight areas with a highlighter, or blacken sensitive elements such as mail addresses and names. Practical: Picture elements on a screenshot can be jerked off, with a click of a mouse, starting from one. Also useful is the inclusion of watermarks. You can choose between text or an imported graphic. Both can be faded in with an individual degree of transparency. When your screenshot is finished, export it as a graphic (PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP) or as a PDF file. Alternatively, print the screenshot or copy it to the clipboard. If you upload the screenshot to the cloud of the program provider, you can copy the corresponding link and make it available to friends or colleagues.
