Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Launches Double XP Weekend in Preparation for Eclipse
#1
Gamers can also pick up Activision titles for cheap

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 remains the most engaging first-person shooter when it comes to multiplayer action, and the development team at Treyarch and publisher Activision are keen on keeping fans interested in the title in the long term.

The two companies are now delivering a new double experience weekend for the video game on all platforms on which it is available, which will cover versus action as well as the cooperative zombie mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will introduce the promotional event at 10 AM Greenwich Mean Time on Friday, April 15, and will be live until Monday, April 18, at 5 PM GMT.

The event is clearly designed to promote the coming launch, on April 19, of the new Eclipse downloadable content pack for the shooter. This offering is designed to introduce four new maps to the title, including one that is based on Call of Duty: World at War, and another episode for the undead-powered coop campaign.

Gamers will be able to get the DLC delivery first on the PlayStation 4, and those who play on the PC and the Xbox One will need to wait for the content for about one full month.

There are two other packages of new maps and other tweaks that Treyarch is preparing to launch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 before fall.

Activision is cutting the price of its video games on Steam

During the weekend, the publisher is offering some solid deals via the digital distribution service for the PC, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 with a price cut of 40 percent, which should get a number of new players to try out the experience.

Older titles in the same franchise are also included, and gamers can also get access to a variety of other video games, including Prototype, Vampire: The Masquerade, Tony Hawk, Singularity, Transformers and more.

Activision is at the moment working with Infinity Ward to create the next installment in the Call of Duty series, which is set to be launched in the fall, probably in November.

Rumors are suggesting that the two companies are not interested in maintaining a connection with past storylines and are planning to push the game far into the future, with gameplay that will feature space battles and futuristic weapons.

A full announcement will take place during the Activision conference at the E3 2016 event in June.
