Updating PHP for Promo2day
#1
Quote:Dear Mike,

In a few weeks, we’re updating PHP for promo2day.com from version 7.4 to 8.0. This may cause issues on your website if you have a plugin or theme that isn’t compatible with PHP 8.0.

To avoid problems, we recommend updating your website and all plugins and themes to the latest version. If you do experience issues after the update, you can solve them by temporarily changing PHP back to version 7.4 until you’ve updated your website.

Note that it’s no longer possible to go back to 7.4 after 28 November 2022, when PHP 7.4 will permanently be removed from our servers.

Why are we updating PHP?
We’re updating PHP to keep your website secure.

PHP 7.4 is reaching end-of-life on 28 November 2022. After that date, PHP 7.4 will no longer get security fixes, making continued usage a potential security risk.

The end-of-life date of a PHP version is determined by the PHP Development Team and beyond one.com’s control. Check our guide for more information on why you need to update PHP.

If you have questions about updating PHP, please reach out to our support. We’re happy to help.

Best Regards

I received the following email from our web hosting company. As of today we have updated the forum to latest version 1.8.30 as well as all the plugins to the latest build. I am now going to try updating the PHP for promo2day.com from version 7.4 to 8.0. This may cause issues on our website if we have a plugin or theme that isn’t compatible with PHP 8.0. Any issues please post here and we can try to fix them.
