How often do you defrag your hard drive? or do you bother at all
#1
I  have read soooo many comments over many yeas in favour of and so many that defragging may be a total waste of  time.??

Ok It's unlikely to be harmful, but it may actually accomplish nothing worth the minor effort it takes for you to run it. OR is it?

Back in the days when hard drives had only wee capacities of around 30GB, defragging may have had a large effect.

So is defragging just possibly pointless?

This is time to bring the cobwebs out... AS you are experienced Tech peeps . what are your thoughts on this obviously
unresolved discussion

If you are using the HDD, you should run the sometimes defragmentation (If the HDD is very fragmented, it will slow down). I am using the SSD, so I don't need to defragment.

Yes, defragmenting is still a useful thing  via Ghacks.net .
Yes this HDD optimization process is still a necessary thing to do.
