In 1985 Microsoft published version 1.0 of its graphical user interface based on MS-DOS. From 1990 onwards, however, it was only Windows 3.0 to 3.11 that became more widespread. The competitor Apple has a market share of just under 17 percent with Mac OS ( source ).
