Not used Avast VPN before.   It's working nicely, so far.

Minimal GUI, so not overly cluttered.
Has streaming and torrent servers.
Wireguard protocol.
Mimic protocol (not heard of this before) to bypass VPN restrictions.
killswitch works well. Informs you when connection dropt and re-connected.



The reason i had not tested Avast was because :-
Avast caught selling user data collected through their antivirus products
In 2019, privacy experts discovered that Avast was harvesting user data through their antivirus products, then selling that data to third parties. According to the company,
The data is fully de-identified and aggregated and cannot be used to personally identify or target you.

The data that was collected did not include the user’s name, email address, or IP address. While we really don’t like the idea of anyone selling user data like this, it doesn’t sound like the data can be used to personally identify anyone.

They stopped selling data after they were caught out.

I've been unable to install it in a Windows 7 virtual machine, due to this OS's restriction on unsigned drivers (despite all the attempts I've found on the net)!
On the other hand, the 60-day trial requires you to provide certain bank details, doesn't it?

I am running windows 10, not tested windows 7.
I downloaded and installed Avast VPN. Without credit card. Smaller installer file that downloads the full program.
All worked fine.

After installation I used one of the provided codes thinking it would of been 6 months.
I should of tested the 60 day first. 

Not 100% sure if after install it would of forced to register with bank details.
I registered two different codes, both 28 days.

Seems a waste of time giving away 1 month when the site indicates 60 days free.
After the free 60 days then using 1 month codes is worth while.
