In the statistics of the Federal Criminal Office, attacks on Christians were included for the first time. Attacks included in these statistics are serious and show that the phenomenon is not so marginal.
Almost 100 crimes of this type have been recorded. The most serious crime took place in the town of Prien am Chiemsee in Bavaria. A 29-year-old Afghan murdered a 38-year-old woman in front of her supermarket in front of her children (5 and 11 years old). The murder was religious. Murdered was also Afghan, but a convert to Christianity.
Similar attacks on Christians were still 9, but in these cases the victims of the attack suffered 'only' injuries. There was also one arson. In addition to attacks on people, there have also been attacks and desecrations of churches and Christian symbols. That's a quarter of anti-Christian crimes. 14 crimes were committed by refugees or asylum seekers.
The Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann makes it clear. There will be no indulgence for this type of behavior, and those who want to live in Germany must absolutely respect Christian cultural values. As the minister stressed:
- This is not a condition, only an unconditional requirement.
