is it possible to install IE11 on windows 8?

I need to upgrade IE 10 which is built in windows 8 Pro (64 bit) to IE 11

I know that I have to upgrade to windows 8.1 but I tried before and failed.

Any solution?

according to here and here  not supported in windows 8. and as you know you have to upgrade windows 8.1
but there is a ie 11 for windows 7  so maybe you can go install windows 7 then upgrade to IE11,
Then upgrade windows 7 to 8 from DVD.
that's way maybe work.
otherwise i don't think so you find a way to install

We can find some ways to fix your problem, but after some time you would have to upgrade to Windows 10...As they say, sooner or later thing.

So, instead of always adjusting and trying to find ways to do things that are difficult to fit and wasting time on that research, just use Windows 10, coz again, sooner or later, and it would save you a lot of time too.

The problem is that I tried windows 8.1 installation immediately after release. It failed on my laptop

this sony model doesn't support upgrade. I nned clean install which will cause loss of all sony related apps

Windows 8 and 8.1 screenshots (for reviews ;) ) look better than Windows 10's, so I think that's why you wanna stay with windows 8.xxx versions only

If upgrade failed, then u need to search the exact error name and search about it why upgrade failed. Sony model doesn't support upgrade may not be that much of a big contribution to this problem.

Just keep googling and eventually some ways will be discovered ;)

Hi,

On many laptops has some preinstalled apps,l maybe these app are reasion to stop upgrading.
I would like to suggest you install galary utilise free version and take backup of drivers, even you can take backup of those apps by handy backup and then restore those apps.

Note: When you will clean installation of OS then you cannot use any device even USB so keep UsB drivers in other drive for help.

Hope other can give more accurate answers.

You should first make a backup of your entire hard drive
Use acronis (you can copy all partitions, including the recovery partition oem)
Then fully update windows 8 with windows update
If you can not (continuous loop checking for updates)
