We had to release a quick update to jv16 PowerTools.
You can download the new version from here: https://jv16powertools.com/downloads/jv16pt_setup.exe
The build 832 released last week contained an unfortunate bug that could cause it in some systems damage Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird products, as well as possibly Google Chrome. The bug was not generic, meaning that the issue did not happen in every system. This is why we did not notice it in our testing. And which is also why we have, to this date, received only two bug reports of this happening with users. It seems, therefore, that the bug is very rare to occur. If the bug does occur, recovering from the issue is rather easy: Simply reinstalling the affected program, such as Mozilla Firefox.
Even so, we decided to release a quick update to jv16 PowerTools to fix this bug.
I will need to find out how this issue got through our quality control systems. I'm very sorry for this bug to have been in the product and I will personally make sure this will not happen again.
Change Log since Build 832
Fixes:
1) Running the System Cleaner can damage Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla Thunderbird products. This only occurs in some systems, but we wanted to release a fix for the issue as fast as possible nevertheless. A simple reinstall of the mentioned products solves the problem, or restoring the System Restore Point jv16 PowerTools automatically created before the cleaning.
2) The Initial Setup can fail with an error message of Access Violation. This is a very rare bug, but now also fixed.
Improvements:
1) Speed improvements to the Initial Setup, Software Uninstaller and Software Updater scans.
Known Issues:
1) The support for 4K displays is not yet perfect, however, it is already quite usable.
2) System Cleaner's browser cleaning module does not support the new Chromium based Microsoft Edge.
3) The System Cleaner and Software Uninstaller Right-Click menus do not yet have the Add To Ignore List feature.
4) Duplicate Finder will list at most 2000 duplicate files. Digital Signature ( Macecraft Software )
