This is a compliment to your current security configuration. 
I wasn't sure what it does, but it works alongside your browser,to protect your PC from unauthorized installs, of any kind.
I was looking at a schedule on a website today, and it was a  " doc."  When I clicked to open it Voodoo shield intercepted my request to open the doc, with a confirmation, Did you want to open this?

In my opinion it is another kind of firewall. But I can't use it well.

We all here are downloaders,  install voodoo shield and see what happens next time you download something.  A message popped up from voodoo that said 57 virus programs found no problem with my download.
