The game is now set to release in the second half of 2022
Nov 5, 2021 04:08 GMT · By Cosmin Vasile · It is clearly the season of delays and while we do think that the health crisis and its impact on various industries, and people in general, does warrant such announcements, we can’t help but wonder why these things aren’t taking into consideration before revealing a release date.
We’re almost two years into a global pandemic and many game developers have already find the right workflow to cope with what’s happening, but it looks like many of them continue to put out unrealistic release date for their games.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is the most recent game that’s been delayed this year. Developed by Firaxis, the team behind XCOM, the game was announced back in August with the promise of a March 2022 launch.
Unfortunately, Firaxis announced this week they have decided to postpone the game until the second half of 2022. We all know the reasons, but here is the official statement:
“We decided to share that we’ve made the very tough decision to move our launch window to the second half of 2022. We know many fans were looking forward to playing the game originally next spring, and this decision did not come lightly. We decided to push our launch because we need more time to make this the best game possible. These extra months will be used to add more story, cinematics and overall publish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality.” Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a turn-based tactical RPG that uses a deck-card combat system from what we’ve seen until now. The game features some of the less-known superheroes and a protagonist that has been especially created by Firaxis for the game. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set for release on PC (Steam and Epic Game Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
