#1
First flash sale will take place on March 9 on Amazon India

As expected, Xiaomi officially launched the mid-range Redmi Note 3 phablet in India. The smartphone has been previously teased by the Chinese company, but no details on the prices were available at that time.

Today, at the launch event, Xiaomi confirmed that the Redmi Note 3 will be available for purchase in India on March 9. The first flash sale will take place next week on Amazon India and Mi.com website.

Potential customers should know that the mid-range handset will be available in Champagne Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color options.

According to a new report, the smartphone will cost Rs 9,999 ($150/€135) outright for the 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM variant, or Rs 11,999 ($180/€160) for the 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM model.

Another interesting aspect is the fact that this is the third “Made in India” Xiaomi smartphone after Redmi 2 Prime and Redmi Note Prime.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 ships with MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop operating system. It comes with support for 13 Indian languages and a full metal industrial design.

Specs-wise, the Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen full HD (1080p) laminated display. On the inside, the smartphone employs the services of a 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor and an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit.

Aside from the 16/32GB internal storage, the Redmi Note 3 includes microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

At the back, Xiaomi's mid-range smartphone packs an impressive 16-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and full HD (1080p) video recording. There's also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

Hybrid dual-SIM support, fingerprint scanner

The Redmi Note 3 comes with hybrid dual-SIM support, as well as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS connectivity options.
Also, the phablet features a fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor and a massive 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging.

“We are extremely excited to be launching Redmi Note 3 in India, which is the start of many firsts for us in 2016 and more than meets the demands of our hardcore Mi fans. We literally pioneered the category of ‘phablets’ below INR 10,000 in India, and with Redmi Note 3 we are redefining what you can get in this category.

“2016 is a significant year for us and we are looking forward to introduce even more amazing products in India in the year to come,” said Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra.
