Up for pre-order on February 21, for sale on March 11
If you had any doubt that Samsung will bring the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge on the market much earlier than previous flagships, they will be put to rest by the latest leak concerning these high-end devices.
An official brochure listing the smartphones' specs has just been leaked via Spanish blog Xatakandroid (via GSMArena), which clearly shows the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will be available for pre-order on February 21.
Also, the document mentions that both smartphones should hit shelves on March 11, which comes in line with the latest rumors claiming Samsung's flagships will be available for purchase in Europe and North America on the same day.
If you didn't know by now, Samsung Galaxy S7 will be available for €700 while the Galaxy S7 edge should cost no more than €800. Keep in mind that these prices are for the 32GB models, as the 64GB will be priced about €80 higher.
Also, some, if not all, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge pre-orders will come bundled with a free Gear VR.
IP67 certification for water protection, new TouchWiz skin
Another important piece of information confirmed in the document is the fact that both smartphones feature pressure sensitive displays. They also come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and a new TouchWiz skin.
The brochure also mentions that Samsung Galaxy S7 is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery while the larger Galaxy S7 edge will come with a bigger 3,600 mAh battery inside.
Both smartphones feature wireless charging (charging pad required) and include microSD card slot for memory expansion.
Apparently, customers in Spain will only be able to grab the Qualcomm-based Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, which come equipped with a Snapdragon 820 CPU, but Samsung will also sell another variant powered by an Exynos 8890 processor.
Last but not least, it looks like the Qualcomm-based Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge phones are IP67 certified for water protection, but the Exynos-powered version feature IP68 certification as confirmed in our previous report.
