Quote:Apple Ships New iPad Pros Already Bent, Says It's Fine

Company says it's a manufacturing defect        Users are reporting that some 2018 iPad Pros are being shipped already slightly bent. Apple says it’s true and that it’s not a defect.

Imagine ordering a 2018 iPad Pro and receiving its slightly bent. It’s not an ideal situation, but at least you figure that it’s not your fault. The problem arises when Apple says that they don’t consider it to be a defect, and you start to get that “hold the phone a different way for a better signal.”

Apple insisting that it’s not actually a problem falls well within the companies’ policy that feels a lot like the Narcissist's Prayer. This is it in case you didn’t already know it:

“That didn't happen.

And if it did, it wasn't that bad.

And if it was, that's not a big deal.

And if it is, that's not my fault.

And if it was, I didn't mean it.

And if I did...

You deserved it.”

Apple’s version is a little bit simpler. You only have to change a few words.

“It’s not bending.

And if it did it’s not that bad

And if it was, that's not a big deal.

And if it is, that's not our fault.

And if it was, we didn't mean it.

And if we did, it’s just a cooling problem,

And you deserve it.”

Apple acknowledges the issue
The company knew about the fact that some versions of the 2018 iPad Pro are bending way too easy. The LTE iteration seems to be the most exposed because the metal frame also contains a little bit of plastic on the sides, making it more susceptible to outside forces.

Users have been complaining for a while that their iPad Pros are bending after being used, but it turns out that they can ship already bent. According to The Verge, Apple recognizes that it’s a manufacturing defect, but they claim it doesn’t affect performance in any way. It's a just a rapid cooling issue on the assembly line.

Now it’s up to Apple customers to decide if they want the first curved tablet or if they settle for a regular version.
