Quote:TikTok is one again one of the most popular iOS apps
The United States authorities are currently pondering banning TikTok in the country, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that users there are also ready to abandon the app.
According to information provided by Sensor Tower, TikTok was the most downloaded non-gaming app in the entire world last year, reaching no less than 87 million installs. According to the official numbers, this represents an increase of no less than 52.7 percent from the same month in 2019.
While India is the country with the biggest number of downloads for TikTok, the United States comes second, so it’s very clear that users in this market aren’t willing to abandon the app despite all the claims lately.
Zoom secured the runner-up place in both the App Store and the Google Play Store, Sensor Tower says.
“ZOOM was the second most installed non-gaming app worldwide last month with close to 71.2 million installs, 34 times its downloads in June 2019. The countries with the largest number of ZOOM installs were India at 30.8 percent, followed by the U.S. at 11.3 percent. Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram rounded out the top five most installed non-gaming apps worldwide for the month,” the company says.
There’s no such thing as bad publicity
YouTube was the third most downloaded app in the App Store, while on Android devices, the app that finished third was Facebook. On both platforms, WhatsApp was the fourth name in the most downloaded apps list.
The United States is reportedly considering banning TikTok due to possible ties with the Chinese government, with local officials explaining that such an approach is indeed under consideration.
In the meantime, ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, doesn’t seem to have any reason to be worries about in the United States, as all these numbers do nothing more than to confirm the app’s popularity is on the rise. And all the bad press eventually improves TikTok’s adoption even more, it seems.
