Visual Studio Dev Essentials is free subscription for Microsoft software development tools and resources. Microsoft is offering this for some time, but I never seen it being posted on ozb? You get free developer tools like Visual Studio Community Edition (for Windows and Mac) and SQL Server Developer Edition (which you can also get some other way), Office Online, cloud services and free Azure credit, as well as a few online learning resources.

This is extract from the current set of benefits:
Azure: Free account + $200 credit
Pluralsight: Free for 1 month
DataCamp: 2 month subscription
LinkedIn Learning: 1 month Premium subscription
CODE Magazine: 1 year digital subscription

Some benefits used to be better before (e.g. a few months longer subscriptions, more Azure credit) but current offer is still good. Note that you don’t need to activate all benefits at once – e.g. you can start with Pluralsight for a month, then learn something with DataCamp and then activate your Azure credit.
