Quote: Being a great overall system, Windows 10 includes a host of highly controversial features collecting information about the users and their activities on a Windows 10 PC and transmitting the data back to Microsoft.
To help you fix Windows 10 privacy issues, SoftOrbits developed an all-in-one tool. Privacy Protector for Windows 10 allows you to disable select or all tracking services found in Windows 10 and delivered to Windows 8.1, 8 and Windows 7 with updates.

Thanks for posting Mike,
Can anyone give some insight on SoftOrbit's Privacy Protector for Windows 10. How does it compare to the others that are currently FREE?
My 2 cents, I used to use Spybot's Anti-Beacon before, but it seems the developer's have not updated it since October of 2015. And have not responded to various complaints/feedback via Spybot forums. It is kind of a shame to, I really liked Anti-Beacon, it was easy to use.
For the last 5 months I have been using O&O's ShutUp10. It does require a bit more time to read through what each on/off switch does. But it does give the user back some control over Windows 10. And O&O ShutUp10 is updated often and does not need to be installed.
I am currently very happy with O&O ShutUp10. It offers a lot of options to turn on/off settings and offers very clear warnings.

Update - After giving SoftOrbit's Privacy Protector a quick test run, it seems to offer a small amount of settings. Privacy Protector does not offer any details on what the changes will do or provide any offline help.
I really don't understand the need to uninstall the Metro Apps (actually called UWP Apps -Universal Windows Platform), they take up very little space and only run when you need them. They have all come a long way since the early beta's of Windows 10. I use quite a few of them on a regular basis.
In my honest opinion, for SoftOrbit to charge $52.20 Canadian ($39.99 US) before promo for a very limited one trick pony is not okay in my books. There are so many alternatives that do way more and are FREE. As for Privacy Protector, no thank you, I have already uninstalled it.
For those that are running Windows 10, and want to try to maximize some your privacy, it might be worth checking out O&O ShutUp10 https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10, it is not only free but also portable and is not constrained to a hardware-tied license.
Mods - If you think this is out of place, feel free to delete it, i'm sorry but this is just my opinion.

Update 2 - Well it looks like there was finally a reply from the Spybot team regarding Spybot Anti-Beacon for Windows 10, if anyone still happens to be interested...
PepiMK - Member of Team Spybot Wrote:We've actually been working on it, but merged into the new user interface from Spybot 3, so it kind of dangled around depending on Spybot 3. I'll talk to the others about getting an update unrelated to Spybot 3.

Have to agree O&O's ShutUp 10 is a great program.
