About:
EQ550 from Overloud is a plugin modeled after a famous classic American equalizer(EQ). This EQ has a unique proportional cue whereas the gain of the filter increases, its bandwidth becomes proportionally narrower.

Just like the rest of Overloud Gem Series, EQ550 recreates the sound of the original analog hardware while expanding upon its original features.
First, it has five total bands instead of three, next it offers continuous controls where the original has discrete knob positions.Each band also has a cue button which solos that specific band so you can hear the exact frequency at which the filter is working.

The high and low bands can be switched between peak and shelf modes, in shelf mode, the filter boosts or cuts everything beyond the selected frequency.

This EQ is modeled after a renowned American EQ created with custom op-amps. It has become famous thanks to its unique Proportional-Q design, meaning that the bandwidth of the filters
becomes narrow when the gain of the filter increases. For low gain settings, the EQ delivers a smoother tone: its character becomes more and more aggressive when the bands gain band is
raised.
 
EQ550 is available as a stand-alone application as well as VST, AudioUnit and AAX plug-ins.The stand-alone application supports both 32 and 64-bit MacOS and Windows operating systems
