User interface:



The user interface is very friendly, well arranged and easy to use. We will explain in details the user interface and the menu drop down to help you start using the program with no problems.

In the upper part of the application, you will see a menu bar with 6 tabs (task, file, download, view, help and registration). Below the menu bar, you will find the download toolbar which includes all the features you need to use and manage your downloads. The default features available include; Add URL, Resume, Stop, Stop All, Delete, Delete All Completed files from the list, Options, Scheduler, Start Queue, Stop Queue, site grabber and Tell a Friend. They can be in active or disabled state depending on what actions are possible for the current selection of downloads. You can easily customize this bar according to your needs.  



The main interface shows the downloads arranged in a list shape with head buttons on the upper part of the download list. These will help you rearrange your files by name, date, size, status and so on. Simply click on the on the column header and you will see that your files are sorted in the way you want.



You can also rearrange your files or to restore the original default arrangement (by order of addition) is by using the view button and select arrange files from the drop down menu



The left side of the main window shows the categories tree which helps to arrange all downloaded files in categories according to its type. This feature lets you save your download list. For example, if you are moving to a new computer or laptop, you can use this tool to restore all your download. The process is very easy. Simply, use import or export located under the task menu. You can export all your downloaded files in your list. It will be saved on your computer with the extension .ief or ef2. Import function allows you to restore and download these files later. The program will automatically detect the exported files saved by the user and restore it. The site grabber can be launched from the download toolbar then you need to follow simple four step wizard that determines the website to be downloaded, the files to be downloaded, name of your new project and location to save it. After creating a project, the grabber starts to explore files and do everything for you.

First step:

Specify the name of the new project, the website to be grabbed and project template. If the website needs authorization, it will be provided here. Advanced options are also available





Second step:

This step lets you decide whether to automatically save the project files into default category or to select a different location. Other options include overwrite existing files, convert links for offline browsing



Third step:

This step lets you add explorer filters such as whole website exploration or specified number of link levels only, ignore popups windows, explore all sites in the domain



Fourth step:

This step lets you set filters regarding the file types you want to include or exclude. Also it helps you to hide duplicates when found during download process.









Finally, the website will be explored using the set filters till complete. The progress of site grabber can be easily followed with available statistics. The process may need long time according to the website and filters. You will have a list of the files found. You can sort or rearrange files by type, size, name to easily check them. Now, select the files you will save and start download.



Scheduler:





This feature is very important as it will automate all your downloads. No more need to lose time or do effort for downloading all your files. The scheduler will automatically do everything for you.

Two types of scheduler are built-in, namely the main and synchronization. The synchronization queue differs from the main download one in that it lets IDM to check for any changes available on the server so that the old files will be replaced with new ones. You can easily create a new queue using the new button on the scheduler dialogue or more easily right click menu of the queue options in the category tree. You will find many additional options such as start, stop, edit, delete or create new queue. 





The use of this tool is very easy. First, you need to add files to the queue (schedule) using download later on the file download dialogue. Alternatively, you can use of right context menu in the file download list in the main program area or drag and drop any download links by from the main list to the queue you want. Next step, launch the tool using the toolbar button or the download menu option.

Note that the files added to the queue will appear in your main download list with information available as the column "Q". This is the queue and if a file is added to a queue , this mark will be different accordingly

Now, you will specify the location to save your files, time to start and end of your download. Other options are available for you such as set download limits, general or synchronized download and number of concurrent downloads. You can even select to shut down the computer after complete download. Finally click start now or at a scheduled time



Program settings

The program has many settings with many options available for users to set and change. This makes the program one of the most customizable. Settings are categorized under many tabs in a well arranged design. These include; general, file types, save to, downloads, connection, proxy, site logins, VPN and sounds. You can access the settings under download menu.

General:



This part includes many options such as program start with windows, supported browsers, advanced integration, clipboard download, customize keys, download panels and context menu
If your browser is not listed, no problem you can add it easily. All you have to do is to open the settings general tab, and use add browser exe file. That's all!











File types:



You can easily specify the file types that can be automatically downloaded. You will find many types built-in the app, if you want other types, just add any type and save. At anny time you can restore the default using default button
 You can also specify the websites to avoid automatic start of the download process. Again, you can add or remove any new sites and addresses to the list and use the default button to restore the original state

Save to:



Users can specify file categories and save locations through the options available here. You can add a new category if you wish. In addition, you can specify the default directory to save downloaded files and temporary directory to save file parts during download process.

Download:



This part includes settings for start and complete of download dialogue. You can customize the download progress dialogue according to your wish. You will also find options to show queue panel on click of download later button or when you close batch downloads
Virus checking tool is available here. You can set this option to have all your files automatically scanned for any threats. This will keep you safe.  The user can easily customize the behavior of the program if there are duplicate files downloaded. Command line parameters can also be found in this tab



Connection:



You can use this option to specify your connection type and speed. The maximum connection number is 32. If you select this high speed, you will receive a warning that this cause slow connection and use the bandwidth. You can add exceptions for a specific server and set download limits



Proxy:



Using this option, you can easily set the configuration settings of your internet connection including proxy, socks or FTP settings

Sites Login:



This option lets users the login information for any host file site. This will let you enjoy the full download speed. The program will automatically save your data for future use. Without support, Office 2007 will no longer receive technical support for issues, bug fixes, and security fixes for the vulnerabilities that are discovered, Microsoft warns in an advisory published on its support page.

Furthermore, the company explains that starting with October 31, Outlook 2007 will no longer be able to connect to Office 365 mailboxes, so sending and receiving emails won’t be possible beyond this date.

“Office 2007, like almost all Microsoft products, has a support lifecycle during which we provide new features, bug fixes, security fixes, and so on. This lifecycle typically lasts for 10 years from the date of the product’s initial release, and the end of this lifecycle is known as the product’s End of Life,” Microsoft explains.

Upgrade options
The software giant says customers who are still running Office 2007 are recommended to upgrade to Office 365 ProPlus, Office 2016, or to pretty much any other version of the productivity suite that still receives updates.

Office 2013, for instance, is still getting updates, but Microsoft advises users to switch to the latest release of the suite because this one guarantees the longest support. And obviously, Redmond says Office 365 is the best option because it’s offered as a service that’s always running the latest versions and patches without the need for keeping an eye on end of support.

“Unlike Office 2007, Office 365 ProPlus is a user-based service that allows people to access Office experiences on up to 5 PCs or Macs and on their mobile devices. Because Office 365 ProPlus is a delivered as a service, there are differences in how you deploy, license, and activate it,” Microsoft says.

October 10 also marks this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle, so in addition to Office 2007 updates, other patches are also expected, including cumulative updates for Windows 10.

Quote:Earlier today, on a late Friday evening, Disqus confirmed a data breach that appears to have taken place in the summer of 2012, and during which an unknown attacker(s) made off with details for at least 17.5 million user accounts.

The company found out about the breach from Aussie security researcher Troy Hunt, who come into the possession of a copy of the stolen data and informed Disqus yesterday afternoon.

According to one of Hunt's tweets, it took Disqus 23 hours and 42 minutes to investigate the data and confirm the breach.

Incident took place in July 2012
Disqus, the web's larger provider of hosted commenting systems, has already started notifying users included in the data provided by Hunt.

According to the company, hackers stole email addresses, Disqus usernames, sign-up dates, and last login dates in plain text. SHA-1 hashed passwords were only included for about a third of the 17.5 million details.

Disqus says the last entry in the exposed data is from July 2012, a good indicator of when the security breach took place.

This means hackers made off with details for Disqus users who signed up between 2007, when the company was founded, and July 2012.

Company has already reset passwords
"Right now, we don’t believe there is any threats to a user account," Disqus said in a security alert. "Since 2012, as part of normal security enhancements, we’ve made significant upgrades to our database and encryption in order to prevent breaches and increase password security."

Disqus also said that at the end of 2012, it switched the password hashing algorithm from SHA1 to bcrypt.

The age of the breach and the fact that the passwords were hashed with SHA-1 protected most of the compromised accounts. Disqus said it found no evidence of unauthorized logins in relation to the breach.

Nonetheless, even if the danger is low, the company has reset passwords for all affected users. Disqus also said it is still investigating the incident. More details are likely to surface in the coming weeks.
