OnePlus has already confirmed that it’s working on a smartwatch, and a render that made the web this week provides us with an early look at the device ahead of the March 23 launch.

The image, which comes via @UnboxTherapy on Twitter, shows that the OnePlus Watch will indeed use a circular design, so it’ll look like a traditional watch, which in turn should make it rather comfortable.

The device will feature two side buttons on the right and come with a silicone band, which at the first glance suggests the smartwatch would pack several health and activity features.

Judging by the face enabled in this screenshot, the watch would also allow step tracking and possible other real-time monitoring, and most likely, it’ll support plenty of other faces too.

Not running Wear OS
The OnePlus CEO confirmed recently that the OnePlus Watch wouldn’t run Wear OS, but a proprietary operating system allowing for better battery life and other notable performance achievements.

“We won’t give away too much right now, but we’ll leave you with this for now: Our priority for devices that are part of the OnePlus ecosystem is to offer fashionable designs, provide seamless connectivity and deliver a best-in-class user experience. And the new OnePlus Watch is no exception,” he said.

The device will feature a “burdenless design,” he continues, adding that the device will also be affordable and play nice with the other OnePlus devices on the market.

“Seamless connectivity between OnePlus smartphones, audio peripherals, smartwear devices, and even OnePlus TVs, making smart control over all these devices simple and intuitive; A best-in-class experience at an affordable price point, so that more of our global OnePlus users can enjoy our signature burdenless, seamlessly connected experience,” he added.

The unveiling will take place on March 23 alongside the OnePlus 9.
