Process Lasso is an automated Windows process (program) management and optimization Utility. It is not a simple task manager. It has a number of unique built in capabilities (such as default priority classes, default CPU affinities, disallowed processes, and so on). These features give you the ability to control how programs utilize your computer's resources. 

Components: 
There are two distinct components of Process Lasso: 

1. Processgovernor.exe (The Core Engine):  This is responsible for applying process rules and keeping the system optimal with algorithms like ProBalanace. It can be installed as a service and can run entirely by itself (without the GUI).
 
2. Processlasso.exe  (The Graphical User Interface): This application lets the user set rules, view logs, and control the core engine. It does NOT need to be running for the governor to be in effect.
