“AntiRansomware 2021”, the free “extortion virus stopper” from COMPUTER BILD, protects your PC from ransomware such as Emotet or Ryuk. These blackmail Trojans encrypt personal data on your computer and demand a ransom to release the documents. “AntiRansomware 2021” with its background monitor keeps an eye on the most important user directories in real time and sounds an alarm as soon as suspicious actions are carried out on the PC. To avoid damage to the system, an emergency program is activated that immediately shuts down the computer. Windows then starts in safe mode. In the free “AntiRansomware” full version, the folders “My Documents”, “My Pictures”, “My Videos” and “My Music”, the user folder (“User”), the AppData folders “Local” and “Roaming” as well as a directory of your choice. In addition, the program creates so-called honeypots. These are folders within the monitored system directories with many different files that ransom viruses often search for, such as videos, music, PDFs or Word documents. If one of these files is changed, "AntiRansomware" also sounds an alarm. In this way, the software also protects files that are not in the specified folders
