#1
Quote:There have been many reports of Galaxy S10 users encountering problems after updating their device. Sometimes, system updates may go the opposite direction. If you’re one of the unfortunate few Galaxy S10 users who have update issues, find out what to do to fix the problem. There can be a number of possible update problems so all we can do is to give general solutions. We will create a specific guide if we receive reports of another particular update issue in the near future.

How to fix Galaxy S10 update issues
Update issues on Samsung Galaxy devices can happen for a number of reasons. This short troubleshooting guide will show you the steps that you can try if you encounter a problem after an update.

Galaxy S10 update issues fix #1: Restart device
There can be many forms of update-related issues in a Samsung Galaxy device. If you are experiencing a problem after a system update has been installed, it may be caused by a minor bug. Some temporary bugs are easily fixed by simply restarting the phone. We suggest that you restart your Galaxy S10 first before you do the rest of the solutions below. Hopefully this helps in fixing the problem.  It’s particularly useful when the cause of the problem is a temporary bug that may be coming from a coding bug that develops after the device has been left running for some time. Soft reset simulates the effects of “battery pull” procedure. It clears the system and the RAM so if the bug is coming from memory leak or inefficient coding, this may help. To do that, simply press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons for about 10 seconds.

For some Galaxy S10 5G, there may be a slightly different way to arrive at the same method. Here’s how:

Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons for approximately 12 seconds or until the device power cycles. Note: Allow several seconds for the Maintenance Boot Mode screen to appear.
From the Maintenance Boot Mode screen, select Normal Boot. Note: Utilize the volume buttons to cycle through the available options and the lower left button (below the volume buttons) to select. Allow up to 90 seconds for the reset to complete.
If Maintenance Boot Mode screen won’t show, then your device does not have it. Simply wait for the device to power down completely.

Galaxy S10 update issues fix #2: Refresh system cache

If your Galaxy S10 update issues started after a system update, it’s possible that there might be a problem with the system cache. This is a set of temporary files used by Android to load apps quickly. Updates may sometimes corrupt the system cache, which can then cause slow performance problems and other issues. To ensure that your device has fresh system cache, follow the steps below:

Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe cache partition’.
Press Power button to select.
Press the Volume down key until ‘yes’ is highlighted and press the Power button.
When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.
Press the Power key to restart the device.

Galaxy S10 update issues fix #3: Reset network settings

Some post update issues on Samsung devices can be caused by incorrect network configuration. At times, new updates may change network settings, which, in turn, may lead to problems. To fix Galaxy S10 update issues due to incorrect network setup, follow these steps:

From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
Tap General Management > Reset > Reset network settings.
Tap Reset settings.
If you have set up a PIN, enter it.
Tap Reset settings. Once complete a confirmation window will appear.
