The American Navy's main battleship fleet being attacked.
December 7th, 1941
The day America said "Farewell to Peace" (isolationism), until this day, in order to save the world from EVIL:
- Fascism, communism, and militant Islam.
.
.
"By embracing an evil belief system (ideology),
governments and their military, along with the majority of the people of those nations, have gone insane.
This was the story of the 20th century. -- And, it continues until this day.
... Without America, and its allies, these insane nations would rule the world."
- Elijah Gale
.
.

As a result of this day, 12,209,238 Americans served in the military (1941-1945)
Combat survivability (out of 1,000):
8.6 were killed in action, 3 died from other causes, and 17.7 received non-fatal combat wounds.

President Franklin Roosevelt, before Congress, asks for war against Japan.
(This is worth your time to listen. - 4 minutes long.).

(For those who do not speak English)
He says:
"Yesterday December 7th, 1941 a date which will live in infamy, The USA was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. The USA was at peace with that nation and at the solicitation of Japan was still in conversation with its Government and its Emperor looking towards the maintenance of peace. In the Pacific the attack yesterday has caused great damage to American naval and military forces and I regret to tell you that many American lives have been lost. American ships have been torpedoed on the high seas. No matter how long it may take to overcome this premeditated invasion the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I ask the Congress to declare that since the unprovoked attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire." (large applause).

Thank you, my friend, scolli23, for this post and the other one today. ... They may hate "American Exceptionalism" but they cannot honestly deny it historically. Our blood and treasure made the difference between slavery and poverty or freedom and prosperity for the world in the last 100+ years. Thumb
