The holiday season in America, or any nation, is a time to hopefully make precious family memories.
... I have been blessed to have had many holidays that resemble the famous painting above.

As a young psychologist, I asked a learned mentor why so many people do have good holiday memories.
He said, "There were probably people involved who did not have thankful or loving hearts." 

.

*As the old joke goes, "We can pick our noses but we can not pick our relatives."
But, you can pick who you want to spend your holidays with. ... I do!  
.
The lesson to learn is, "Unthankful unloving relatives or people who do not behave appropriately do not help make PRECIOUS MEMORIES."  

Maybe, it's better to have no holiday gathering than to have a bad one.
