Update - Had a chance to take Affinity Photo Public Beta for a test run.

I've been using an old version of Photoshop (7.0.1) for many, many years, it suites all my current needs and has never let me down. With the exception of some of the newer templates/plugins not being compatible, and since switching over to Windows 10, I have encountered some difficulties with Photoshop.

I haven't had the chance to try yet, but I like the fact that you can use Photoshop plugins in Affinity Photo. Also being able to resize the user interface without messing up the toolbars, etc. is a big plus for me. I have tried several photo editors and most of them have a non resizable interface.

Affinity Photo seems to offer a lot of horsepower under the hood, so I will enjoy using it. The liquify feature is actually quite nice to work with. Only one thing I would love to see changed, is being able to zoom in/out using the scroll wheel of my mouse.

It's possible that Affinity Photo could be a decent in-expensive alternative to Photoshop, it is a bit early to tell though but so far I really like it.

Update 2 - After some more testing and exploring I found in the "Preferences" under "Tools", that there is an option to "Use mouse wheel to zoom".
